Adding a Netbackup Media Server

Hello

Currently we have a Windows environment running Netbackup 9.1.0.1 serving as both Master/Media with a Quantum i500 library with 6 LtO6 FC drives.  We have talk of adding another library.

Curious to know What is the Rule of Thumb / purpose for adding a second server to the scheme to serve as a Netbackup Media Server.?

Basically did setup of NBU in new media server with same version of your master server, after that run the follow command in your master server:

nbemmcmd.exe -addhost -machinename HOSTNAMEMEDIASERVER -machinetype media -masterserver HOSTNAME_MASTERSERVER -netbackupversion 9.1.0.1 -operatingsystem linux

After that run nbemmcmd -getemmserver just for check if you will see new media server in your list of server's netbackup, some doubt tell for us, hope this help.
