Adding an additional Media Server

We are looking at the possibility of adding a new media server to the environment. At the moment everything is connected to the Master via SCSI. We have 8 drives within a Library (Solaris).

If we were to add the media server and split 4 drives per media server, am I correct in saying that we can still create a storage unit for all 8 drives? I remember a long time ago that polices could use only one or the other... resulting in a serious disadvantage of being 4 drives down.

I like SSO and I have been using it since 2000.

I haven't experimented with using storage groups yet but it may be a solution. Sure would be messy though if you were to do dupliction/inline vaulting.Message was edited by:
