Yes. NFS is supported.
As per NBU 7.x HCL http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH76495 :
Please note the following for AdvancedDisk array support:
1. An AdvancedDisk array is used by NetBackup as a backup destination, not a backup data source.
2. It is intended that AdvancedDisk features will work with any mounted file system or NFS. The storage must be seen as local disk by the NetBackup Media Server.
So, check export/share permission on Linux server and mount options on Solaris server to ensure that root on Solaris server has full rw permissions on the NFS mount before configuring mount points in Advanced Disk.
