Alternate Platform Restore - is it possible

Hello Folks,

I'm not on this forum very often so I am hoping someone can help me out.  I have a client seeking a data restore from a Windows host and is requesting the data be restored to a Unix host.  Does anyone know if this is possible?  I can find lots of information on alternate client restores and have restored ascii files to a Unix host from Windows before but having looked at the data, it seems my customer is actually seeking a restore of an application that runs on windows.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I have restored some window client flat files to UNIX but never an application and there are some difficulties to overcome. As a general rule, applications should be installed and NOT restored. The application configuration files and data files of coarse should be backed up and restored. That's how I do it.
