Question about the Analyzer Tool. Is there a way to run it for a shorter period>?
I can run:
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/nbdeployutil --gather
then run
nbdeployutil --report --traditional “<gather_directory>”
nbdeployutil --report --capacity “<gather_directory>”
Can I do this for a shorter period? Like a week?

Yes, use the --hoursago option when doing your gather.
From nbdeployutil --help:
--hoursago Gather backup data for last N hours
(capacity default 2160, traditional default 2160)
You can also give the gather process a specific timeframe:
[--start="mm/dd/yyyy HH:MM:SS" [--end="mm/dd/yyyy HH:MM:SS"]]
The --report you run will be on whatever was gathered so you cant change the timeframe at that point, unless you manually edit the gathered files.

You can but its better to have a longer time frame so inconsistencies don't affect the result. Unless your environment run close to 100% success rate :)

My issues is we are at the limit of our capacity license and I’ll get a butt whooping if we go over. I was hoping to stay on top of everything. I know there is a tool that I can buy that helps but management won't be interested in speading anymore moeny.

Then management should let you what you shoud not backup anymore....... maybe the billing system, maybe exchange. Its not really you generating the data growth. Unless you're keeping your movies protected :)
