Hi all, good day!
I just want to know if my understanding was right.
SETUP:
Domain 1 - HO
NBU Master1 and NBU Master2
Doman 2 - DR
NBU Master2 and NBU Master 2
I have 4TB which is my Raw data and I'm going to Back it up HO to DR.
QUESTION: Since this is the first full, 4TB will be going to store in my MSDP-HO and the 4TB will be replicated to MSDP-DR? Or is there a certain amount of data will be replicated? I mean not necessarily the whole 4TB?
CONCERN: "Bandwidth Cost" if the 4TB will travel through WAN.
Thank you and best regards!

Hi,
First backup is usually the full amount, but as it's deduplicated there would probably be common data with in the data, if not with in the same client, at least between clients. So your 4 TB will become X (the figure of your MSDP after the first backup).
That X will, and has to be transfered, unless you're backing up stuff at DR, which might introduce some commonality, but that it is almost impossible to calculate.
It will get wacked the first time, but you can do a gradually approach by adding clients to the SLP one by one.

Hi!
Thank you for your comment. So meaning after the 4TB to be stored in my MSDP-HO it will not be replicated to MSDP-DR as 4TB? I mean only the chunks or deduplicated data will be stored to MSDP-DR?
Thank you and best regards!
