BMR Client Config change very sluggish

jim_dalton

Anyone else seen this...netbmaster server (Sol10) running 7.0.1 is idle yet changing a BMR config spends 22 secs 'constructing the change configuration dialogue...' snooze!

Everything else is responsive enough.

Im running the java netbackup admin console but its just as slow running jnbSA and pushing the X display back to my PC via ReflectionX.

Your experiences appreciated.

TIA,Jim

I think NBU Java console communication to the Java GUI server daemon is not happening smoothly.

But when you say "Everything else is responsive enough.", I am wondering if bmrconfig operation itself taking time.

Please can you confirm first if you have only one instance of bmrd process running on your master server.

Actually bmrconfig does not take much time to edit config. Until and unless Java GUI has some issue, updates should happen smoothly.

Also please provide details of your client config that your changing.

Which OS? Version? What bmrconfig operation is being done?

If you have a windows GUI available in your subnet then try opening admin GUI via windows GUI and check out this operation.

Thanks.

OS and Ver are as original posting Mandar.

Theres definitely only one bmrd running.

I'm not actually changing anything, if I click Hosts-> BMRclients, select my client, right click a copy of its configuration and select 'Change...' then this is when the delay happens: bottom left informational message says 'Constructing the change configuration dialog...' and it is displayed for ~20secs. The dialog appears, I cancel it.So I'm not actually changing anything.

Client copy in question is a 2008R2 server, physical.

Thanks,Jim
