Hi,

I just wanna testing BMR to convert physical to virtual machine, but when I select the server that have a (iso) from vmware, I can´t browse anything. I tried on Master server Linux, and I create a Media server too, the both machines I put like Vmware Access Hosts.

The machine that I tried to convert is a Windows 2008 and the Media server that I installed is a Windows 2008.

Thx

You need to browse for the hostname that was backed up with MS-Windows policy.

have a look at p.212 of NetBackup Bare Metal Restore Administrator's Guide

VIC (NetBackup recovery host) name registration in NetBackup
For VMWare type Hypervisor, Virtual Image Converter host name needs to be
registered in NetBackup master server property named “VMWare Access Host”.
Refer following sample GUI of VMWare Access Host registration.

I registred the computer in Netbackup master server property named "VMWare Access Host", but didn´t work. I registred it on the first time that I tried to do it.

Have you added Server entry on the master server for the Windows recovery host? Have you confirmed comms (forward and reverse name lookup as well as port connectivity ) between this host and the master? If so, please log a Support call with Veritas. I don't know how else to help you. I have personally followed the steps in the manual and the Feature Briefing and it worked 100% .

Yes I did. This machine is a netbackup client, I have a policy in netbackup and I run backup from this machine......I tested in a virtual environment and it worked 100%. Sorry I just wanna discover if someone had this problem...

Thx Marianne for your supply......
