BMR Restore

Hi, I´m running 6.5.2A on both master (WK23) and client, the client in this case is XP.

Have 2 DEll pc,s both running XP, no backup at all.

One of them went down, had to replace the disk.

Did a backup with BMR on the one that was ok.

Then tryed a BMR restore, did a copy of "current" and changed ip-adrs.

However the BMR restore fails "failed to verify backup".

The pc,s have exact the same hardware.

I have also just done a BMR restore on a w2k3 server, no problem.

At first I thought that the problem was that the client in the SRT was only at level 6.5 while the client was at 6.5.2A, upgraded the SRT client, but no luck, however I got a slightly new error, in the first place, at the end of the error message it was "--rc(%1), now the 1 was changed to 25. I also saw a technote about client list and restore, but that is not a problem. However, do I have to have an XP boot server, mine is W2K3?

/regards

Have you changed the NIC's MAC address to the one on the new hardware?

No, you don't need a different windows boot server.  6.0 you would have needed an XP boot server.  I would check the mac address in the modified configuration and whether the policy type is correct.  I would also try discovering the laptop that is broken.  Use that discovered configuration when modifying the configuration.
