I been struggling getting BMR to work on Solaris 10.
After some debugging I found some information that 7.1.3 doesn't work with Solaris 10 with root on ZFS.
09/26/12 11:50:45.530 [Diagnostic] NB 51216 bmrcommon 128 PID:21291 TID:1 File ID:119 [No context] 1 V-128-880 [VerifyConfig.cpp:VerifyConfig()] A swap device was not found in the configuration.

This is apparently solved in 7.5.
I just wonder if this issue is solved in latest 7.1.4 ?
Thanks

Hi Roland,
You need to deploy 7.5 or greater version if your solaris NB client is zfs based.
This support is not back-ported to 7.1.x version.
Thanks.

OK, thanks for that.
Is it possible to run the client with 7.5 and the server still at 7.1.0.3?
Is there a new licence for 7.5 or will my 7.1 license work?

Server version must be grater than or equal with clients. You need to install 7.5.0.x.
Curent license key will work if you don't use any new feature, but it is better to update your license key with 7.5 because features and license model is a bit changed.

Just to add more correct.
In case of triple dot NB release, NB client can be of greater version than NB master version if NB master version is belonging to that major release version family. e.g. 7.5.0.3 NB client can be protected using 7.5 NB master.
thanks.

Upgrade to 7.5 is free if your maintenance is up to date.
You can register your current 7.1 licenses on the Licensing Portal and request 7.5 licenses and new serial #. You will need 7.5 serial # in order to download 7.5 from FileConnect.
See : http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH178337 for details.

Not what I hoped for though, upgrading is not possible atm.
