Backup Netapp shares

We are planning to configure netbackup for taking backup of netapp shares.

Could any one share me the white paper for this.

We are running netbackup 7.5.0.6

Are you planning on doing this using NDMP or as shares mounted on a Media Server and backing them us as file systems?

Then you need to study the admin guide : http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC5164

and take a look through the whitepaper listed by wr above.

Also check that your filer etc is compatible by checking the compatibility lists:

Do we reqiure any special licence for taking backup using NDMP?

Yes ndmp license  and ... where are the data going? Tape? So that needs licensing too.

The good news is it works, been using it for years for CIFS.Lots of useful links above.
