Backup VM's when 2FA is in use

Hi,

At present I have multiple VIP policies for our VM estate which have been working without issue for a few years now, we use the vcentre for connectivity to the VM estate throiugh NetBackup.

Our VM administrators are now looking to introduce two factor authentcation on the VC's, this will obviuosly have an affect on the connection through NetBackup.

Has anyone got any experience of this issue and the best pactice to get around this, I am thinking of changing the connection from VC to each individual ESX hosts, would that seem feasable?

Thanks in advance

Probably best to ask VMware how to use VMware vSphere Storage APIs / VADP (regardless of backup product) with 'two factor authentication'.

I am not VMware expert, but likely you can configure a user not to use 2FA.

Service Accounts used by applications can be equipment with very strong password that minimize the need to use 2FA.

Thanks Marianne,

I will get the VM admins to check this out.
