Hello Experts!
I want to perform a basic backup and restore of VMware.
So, do i need to create new policy for the VMware or i can use an existing policy for my VMware?
and if i restore that VMware, can i get the .vmdk file of the VMware?
Thank you!

We don't know what your 'existing policy' looks like or if you have correct license keys for VMware backup or which NBU version you are running or which OS on your master and/or media servers or which version is your ESX or vSphere....
Here is an excellent article on how to configure VMware backups:
(Netbackup) VMWare Backup over SAN
Manuals (with all requirements, configuration steps and restore steps):
NBU 7.1 http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC3663
NBU 7.5 http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC5605
