I think that you need to describe your environment in more detail.

1) Are these two tape drives new to the environment, or have they always existed?

2) Have you added any new media servers recently?

3) Are the two new tape drives physical or virtual?

4) Are the two new tape drives standalone or in a tape library?

5) Are there any other tape drives in the same tape library that are working ok?

6) What is the tape drive connectivity?  SCSI, or SAS, or FC?

7) Is your master server also a media server?

8) How additional media servers are there (not including the master server)?

Thank you.

@Subramanyam

I agree with @sdo - we need more information.

As per the job details:

awaiting resource XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX-hcart2-robot-tld-2. Waiting for resources.
Reason: Drives are in use, Media server: XXXXXXXXXXXX,

The STU is linked to robot TLD(2).

How many robots in the environment?
How many media servers?

What jobs were running at the time on Media server XXXXXXXXX ?

Did you check for other active jobs and if all drives attached to this media server were busy at the time?

When you experience the same issue again, please collect info such as:

All jobs that are Active (make sure your Activity Monitor is sorted to show Queued at the top, then Active jobs).

vmoprcmd -d  (on the media server linked to the STU)

nbrbutil -dump  (show us  'MDS allocations' section)
