Hi,

I'm getting socket read error.

Master is 7.1.0.3 - Solaris

Media is 6.5 - HP UX

Client is 6.5 - HP UX

All host entry is fine and checked more that twice.

when i issue bpclntcmd -hn <hostname>,---------i'm getting error HOST NOT FOUND.

Important note is backup is running from Master but not from media server.

Pls post your suggestion.

Thanks

Simplistically speaking, bpclntcmd - hn checks local hosts or dns so I advise to go back and check again.

Can you ping the client name from the media server? It is possible that there is a typo error in hosts file on the media server. I find it strange that you have a media server and a client on a NBU version that ran out of support more than 2 years ago and there is now all of a sudden a hostname lookup issue? How did it work previously? Assuming installation on both is more than 2 years old...
