Hello,
I had an issue this day, with backups using source deduplications.
I am trying Symantec appliances (N5020) and I do several reset of the storage pool of my appliances (before, I had deleted images, did an image cleanup, deleted storage unit, disk pool and storage server).
My firsts backup with source deduplication were ok, but after appliance reset, some of them failed with status code 83. In the job log, I had :

I searched and found the problem : config file of the deduplication plug-in was misconfigured. It had old password and was unable to connect with the appliance.
You can confirm this with appliance log (in the web interface) : you will have authentication errors with the clients of your failed jobs.
It was very strange because :
It is very simple : you only need to delete cfg file of dedup plugin on your client (C:\Program Files\VERITAS\NetBackup\bin\ost-plugins\*.cfg), and it will be generated with good parameter with the next backup.
Note :
Netbackup documentation says that you need to delete config file but we do not know where (client ? media ?)

config file are generaly with media server under OST-plugin
btw thanx for sharing

Thanks for sharing the information. May I ask the path where we have the cfg files on Linux?

Is the path on linux is /usr/openv/lib/ost-plugins ?
