Backup takes very long time to finish or stuck at 99% ?

Hi all,

I got one client (Win Server 2003 - Netbackup 7.6.0.3) which takes very long time to (maybe) finish his backup.

Using Client-side deduplication. Netbackup version on both Media and Master servers is 8.0.

Job started 66 hours ago and console is showing 99% since more than 2 days now. I can see on the media server that Spoold.exe is already working on this client. On client I can see that bpbkar is running too.

Data to backup is something like 580GB, with one backup scheduled each month.

Should I let him continue working ? Or Processes are stucks or something ?

Hello,

In the case of client deduplication, the same versions on server are client are recommended (even if not strictly required) to prevent problems like this.

But the problem with W2003 is that you cannot upgrade to more than 7.6.1.x.

So I recommend to switch to server side deduplication if possible.

regards

Michal
