Hello All,

 

 

Backups are failing with status 23 and 24 for a particular media server.

 

Error Logs are as follows:

05/14/2016 03:30:50 - begin writing
05/14/2016 03:30:51 - Info bpbkar (pid=13624) Backup started
05/14/2016 03:30:51 - Info bpbrm (pid=25194) Sending the file list to the client
05/14/2016 03:31:01 - Info bpbkar (pid=13624) change journal NOT enabled for <F:\Tran_log_Backup>
05/14/2016 04:04:39 - Info bpbkar (pid=13624) change journal NOT enabled for <F:\Bkp_db>
05/14/2016 08:10:30 - Critical bpbrm (pid=27156) from client XXDETECTDBPRD: FTL - socket write failed
05/14/2016 08:10:30 - Error bptm (pid=27155) system call failed - Connection reset by peer (at child.c.1307)
05/14/2016 08:10:30 - Error bptm (pid=27155) unable to perform read from client socket, connection may have been broken
05/14/2016 08:10:30 - Info bpbrm (pid=25194) sending message to media manager: STOP BACKUP HBDETECTDBPRD_1463164238

Media server OS is SOLARIS 10 

Kindly suggest how to resolve this issue parmanantly.

Hello  Riaan,

Issue has been identified with the media Sever ping drop issue.

 

We communicated with Network Team to resolve the issue and now backup are completing successfully.

Hi Saleem,

 

Check the bpbkar log on the client for more information. If the bpbkar folder doesn't exist under /usr/openv/netbackup/logs/ then create it and rerun the backup.

Hello Marianne,

TechNote provided by you is very useful and we really worked with Network Team regarding this issue and there is a ping drop between media server and the master for some identical time delay.
