Are ALL backups failing or just for this client?

What is client OS and NBU version?

Can you confirm that NBU is up and running on the client?

Do you have bpcd and bpbkar log folders on the client?

Hi

Netbackup Version 7.7.2

OS Version in Client and Media and Master server is Linux.

Master server is up and runing fine, backups failing on perticular media server not only perticular client, multiple clients failing with same error on perticular media server ( Media Server OS is linux )

Thanks

Status 49 normally points to a problem on a client.

Since you have isolated the problem to a specific media server - do the same backups work when they run through another media server?

Please ensure that all of these log folders exist on the problematic media server:

bpcd
bpbrm
bptm

The logs will confirm the process flow starting with connection from the master, then handing over to bpbrm and bpbrm initiating comms with client(s) and bptm.

Level 3 logs should be fine.

In the meantime - see if this TN maybe helps if applied to the media server (i.e check hosts file on media server):  http://www.veritas.com/docs/000036816
