I have below questions on the same

2. Which configuration need to be done in Nebackup policy so database person can initiated the backup?

1. Nothing additional. There should be 3 minimum entries in bp.conf on the db-media:
SERVER = <master>
SERVER = <db-media>
CLIENT_NAME = <db-media>

2. Nothing additional.
When you create Oracle policy, one application schedule will be added by default with 24 x 7 window which will allow dba's to initiate backups.

3. NBU for Oracle plugin is already stalled along with NBU Client software that is included in Server software. Just run oracle_link as oracle user on db server (details in the NBU for Oracle manual).

The manual is your friend. Download and read through NetBackup for Oracle Administrator's Guide

One more thing: Please consider Oracle Intelligent Policies. Details in above manual and this doc:

Thanks Marianne,

Suppose there is only one default schedule for oracle backup i.e. default-application-backup in that having one month retntion.

Example:

I have created a policy and share them with DBA and in that policy only one default-application-backup schedule with a month retention.

In that case will database backup happen?

What is the retention for database backup?

but I have to retain the database backup for 7 year then what need to do

The default-application-backup retention is what is used,not the automatic schedule's retention. You can name your schedules and use the SEND nb_ora_sched parameter in your scripts

Check the note

Have you read through the section about Policy schedules in the manual? If so, you will know that the database backup will have the retention level of the default application schedule. If you want to change the retention after the backup is taken, you can use bpexpdate command.
