CAP size

I want to use vmchange to eject many tapes. I heard there is a limit to the number of tapes to be ejected. It should not exceed the CAP size.

1-how can I know my CAP size

2- if  my tapes  more than CAP size, is it possible to run one single  command? . because my command will run in a script and I want to fully automate the script

3- a sample of my tapes to be ejected is below, please what is the correct flags and format of vmchange command to run ( NetBackup 7 and Master AIX 6.1)

Media ID Robot Type Robot number Robot Control Host
101888  ACS 0 NONE
101222  ACS 0 NONE
101000  ACS 0 NONE
101500  ACS 0 NONE

 Many Thanks

You can query cap size within ACSLS itself:

  Query the Cartridge Access Ports
ACSSA> q cap all
2012-01-28 14:25:30                CAP Status
Identifier   Priority  Size  State            Mode       Status
0,0,0        0         10    online           automatic  available

I found it much easier to copy the eject file to the ACSLS server and use cmd_proc to eject the tapes. No worries about cap size & etc.

Hint: Set the cap to automatic mode (set cap mode).
