Can VDI Be Backed Up Using Symantec Netbackup

Dear All, 

 

 

We Are Going To Implement VDI Solution In Our Network .Already We Have Symantec Netbackup 7.5 As A Backup Solution For Vmware Infrastructure Can We Use This Solution For Backing Up VDI Machines .

NetBackup has no functionality that is aware of VMware Horizon View(VMware VDI).
However, as per VMware vSphere Desktop FAQs, vSphere Desktop has vStorage API for Data Protection support. So, I believe you can take backup of desktop virtual machines running on vSphere Desktop.

If you wonder, it is better to ask VMware and Symantec whether this configuration is supported.

To add to @Yasuhisa advice - Backup your gold VM master template regularly is the advice to give.

You must provide some other solution to probably backup the persistent disks of the desktops.
