Can expire tape via NetBackup Administration Console GUI ?

Can I expire tape using NetBackup Administration Console GUI instead of bpexpdate command ?

bpexpdate command can only be executed by root / administrator user.

Any idea?

You can expire images via Netbackup Management, Catalog
(but that's not the same as expiring a volume)

I don't like the idea you can expire entire volumes by a right click.

Why not use "sudo" if a non-root user need the bpexpdate command ?

This "right-click expiration" was put forward as an idea a while back - made me think about early retirement!

I agree with Nicolai, for UNIX, we could use sudo.

Just wonder that if most of administrative tasks can be done thru administration console then will be great !

Hopefully will be in the next major release !

Most of your day to day items can be done via the admin console.

Expiring a tape is not something you should have to do every day.
I might only do it twice a year.
