Hi,
Good day!
Just wondering if we can limit or forego with automatic oracle backup retries?
As experienced, everytime an oracle backup encounters errors, as long as it is still within the backup window, it will continue to rerun the job.
Netbackup version: 7.7.3
Master server OS: AIX 6.1
Oracle version: 11G
Thanks in advance!

Hello,
see parameter Schedule Backup Attempts in Master Server Host Properties.
It is a general parameter, so it controls backup attempts regardless policy type.

Retries is a global setting - you cannot change it for one policy type only.
Host Properties -> Master server (select Master name) -> Global Attributes:
Schedule backup attempts
The default is 2 tries every 12 hours.

Thank you Marianne and Michal.
Was hoping to have it affect only one policy guess that is not possible. :)

You might be able to do something in the rman script, but that is a question for your Oracle DBA.
