Catalog Recovery Falied

Hello,

I am trying to recover the Production Netbackup catalog in to the Test Master server. I have copied the catalog backup (disk stu) from production master to the Test Master server (without DRFILE). I have completed the phase1 and phase 2 import successfully. But when running the bprecover -wizard, it is ending with the following error. Please give me a solution on how to proceed further to complete the catalog recovery.

Note: I have created /netbackup mount point and recovering to that location.

Error fron bprecover:

"media open error"

Please check bptm log for possible reason.

If the directory does not exist, create it and retry the restore.

There should also be a log file that looks something like this: /usr/openv/netbackup/logs/user_ops/root/logs/Recover<date-time>.log

Please post logs as attachments.

Since you are restoring from disk, I suspect you are missing a backup image file containing the EMM database backup. As Marianne suggest check bptm but bpdm as well.

Thanks Marianne & Nicolai for your prompt response.

Great ... Directory (staging) creation did the trick !!! Recovery went through after creation of the staging directory and completed successfully.

Thanks for the support.

The fix was to delete the directory /usr/openv/db/staging and replace it with a
symbolic link that points to /opt/VRTSnbu/db/staging.  After that the database
could be recovered
