Is it possible to change domain name ?

If possible After change domain name can we restore old data ?

Thank you for the details.

The server has been configured with the FQN, this cannot herefore be changed to use the shortname, without a NetBackup Partner who offers this consulting service.

It cannot be done by Technical Support - we are not allowed to do it.

Rajesh,

Do you use fully qualified hostnames in your NetBackup environment?

Run: nbemmcmd -listhosts to check this

Hostname Changing for Netbackup Master server is not recommended.

If it is absolutely necessary to change the master server name, then you need to contact Symantec Consulting Services.

Kindly go through below URL for more details.

It all depends how NBU was installed and configured.

If installed and configured using shortname, you can just update the FQDN in the emm database.

If installed and configured using FQDN, it will be more difficult - as in master server hostname change (see Yogesh's post).

Please share nbemmcmd -listhosts -verbose output.

There are a few partners that can do this for you

The other alternative is to use hosts files so that the Master, Media and Clients resolve it correctly, most importantly that the Master resolves itself properly
