Change Master Server Name (7.0)

I know this topic has been covered before, but all the answers point to "Don't do it"

This is a freshly installed version of NBU on a new machine. We will be importing the old catalog to this new box. When installing i set the new name to "nfs" only to realize, that the old one is "NFS". I know this may not make a difference, but for my own sanity, I'd like them to match. All i've set up in this new environment are the new robots. I haven't added any volumes or set any other configurations, backups, or policies.

If you have not ran ANY backups at all on this system (i.e. it's a NEW system). I would suggest deinstalling and reinstalling from scratch. That way you can be sure there will be no issues later.

It only takes 20 minutes to reinstall.

That's what I would do.

We all agree - rather start over and do it right.

A couple of extra minutes now will save you many hours, days, weeks of frustration.
