Clarification of NetBackup NDMP support for NetApp cluster mode

Hi

Can anyone help me in clarifying the floowing statement in the NetBackup compatbility matirx for NDMP backups of a NetApp filer running 8.2 cluster mode.

" A backup of a vServer as an NDMP client will be a 3-way backup."

So I understand that CAB isn;t support and I need to set node-scope-mode and that I also need to target the node and volume directly within the backup policy. I planned to attached the library to an FC farbic and using SSO allow all the nodes in the netapp cluster to have visibility of the tape lobrary. As each cluster node will see the library over the SAN, when I start an NDMP backup targeted to an individual node wouldn't it run as 'local' ndmp backup? When would a 3 way backup be initiated? and why would the above statement be included as I didn't think taregting the actually vServer is supported and would actually simply fail?

kind regards

KL

I just had a customer set it up using the lif method.  Works great, the backup selection is actually the /vfilername/share
