Hi,
I would like some clarification on tpconfig - add for NDMP
This is a NetBackup 7.5.0.1 environment
The information I am looking for is clarification on the -key command.
We have an EMC VNX NDMP filer that requires MD5 for authentication.
the command I am running is tpconfig -add -nh <ndmp filer> -user_id ndmp_backup -password <password> -key <what do I put here?>
I am not able to succesfully authenticate to this NDMP host using MD5 (NDMP_client_connect_auth_failed)
Thanks

From Commands manual:
tpconfig -add -nh ndmp_hostname -user_id | -filer_user_id user ID
[-password password [-key encryption_key]]
-key encryption_key
Creates an encrypted key so that encrypted credentials can be safely sent
over the network. If the -key option is specified, tpconfig assumes the
password to be provided in MD5 encrypted format.

So you want to configure / add EMC VNX box with your Netbackup infrastructure.
If i understand your query correctly...
Is it new implementation or was it worked before ?
if new then what backup methodology you want to configure for NDMP ?

Any reason not using GUI for the "adding NDMP credential"? Just curious..
