Ran into a curious issue on a NBU 7.5.0.4 Windows environment.  When running the following command :

Veritas\netbackup\bin\admincmd\bppllist -allpolicies

NbConsole faults.

snippet from application event viewer :

Application Error    E1000    Faulting application name: NBConsole.EXE, version: 7.500.412.916, time stamp: 0x5055e271

Faulting module name: MSVCR100.dll, version: 10.0.40219.1, time stamp: 0x4d5f034a

Exception code: 0x40000015

The curious thing is the following command works just fine :

Veritas\netbackup\bin\admincmd\bppllist  -L –allpolicies

Solution : Patch up to 7.5.0.5 - http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH199269

Just goes to show you , you should always be at the latest patchset with Netbackup.  Our upgrade documentation always includes a request to download and apply the latest patchset availalbe.

There should be a technical document regarding this in the next few days.

Actually step 4 in the upgrade protal states :

4.  NetBackup 7.5 Maintenance Release 5 (7.5.0.5) should be applied immediately after the 7.5 installation has been completed.  NetBackup 7.5.0.5 download information can be found at the following link:
