Configuring NetBackup 6.5 with HP D2D Appliance

I want to know what all configurations need to be done to have a HP D2D used as a VTL for Netbackup 6.5 in Unix Master server.

Hi,

There are no special configuration to be done. You configure it in the same way you would a physical tape library.

Assign/zone the tape drives, make sure the O/S can see them, configure your SG drivers, make sure sgscan sees the devices, run the storage device configuration wizard.

I am using HP ux master server and when i ran ioscan it detects the tape drives and also i tried to run the wizard from nbu it detects the tape drives.

i couldnt see any robot all the drives are detected as standalone.

hiw can i configure it manually from command prompt and defint the paths.

ioscan needs to see the robot, off the top of my head i believe that would be ioscan -fnC chgr

If that produces no output the O/S cannot see it. You could try insf -e to try and install the special files for all the devices if it was maybe not done.

You have to fix this before continuing the NetBackup configuration.
