We currently have a Linux (RHEL 5) server acting as NetBackup 7 master and media server. Our Linux team currently administers our backups but we would like to transfer this responsibility to someone on the Windows team.
Is there a way for someone using Windows to connect to the adminstration console on Linux master server?

yes, you can always use the Netbackup Java console installed on the one of the Windows machine and connect to the Netbackup Master in unix box

They can have a Windows Admin Console installed on the Windows PC's or Servers - it just needs their PC's / Servers included in the servers list of the Master to allow connection
Hope thi shelps

You may also:
- install ssh client and Xming on Windows machine
- connect via ssh (xming activated) to linux master server
- run java admin console on the master and display it on windows machine
In this case you need to create a user account on master for windows guys in order to connect to master server and browse log files there for example.
Hope this helps

Thanks for all this information, this is great!
One last question. We have been logging in as root (to the java admin console). If I want to create a backup user what privileges does he need on the Linux side?

The user needs local rights on the Master - the rest is done using the auth.conf file - search this forum for that file and you will find lots of advice on its use
#edit#
If your users use the Windows NetBackup Admin Console you do not need to set any of this up - just add their PC to the additional servers list on the master and make sure they are a local admin of their own PC
Really nice GUI for then and very easy to setup

If you're going to use java gui, you may check following link:
About authorizing specific tasks in jbpSA on UNIX/Linux
it may be useful to set authorizations you need.

I think installing "netbackup Ops center" and managing the jobs with it would be an easier solution, you can manage the jobs from web interface of Ops center.
You can also use Netbackup Java console installed on the one of the Windows machine and manage them.
