Crypted databases SQL Server in SharePoint 2010 with NetBackup 7.6.1.x

Hi everyone,

Is it possible to back up clustered SQL Server databases encrypted, in a sharepoint 2010 environment with NetBackup 7.6.1.x ? SharePoint application in cluster environment on VM VMware. I know, thre are no GRT backup/restore.

I did not see anything about it in the admin sharepoint guide 7.6/7.7/8.0.

Hello,

IMHO NetBackup is unaware about database encryption so the backup process will be transparent. DR procedures can differ because also some encryption keys must be restored, however the steps must be followed on MS SQL side, not NetBackup side. Consult apropriate MS SQL and maybe Sharepoint documentation.
