I have a need to implement GRT backups in an environment without SAN disk at present. It has a Data Domain and we are currently backing up the catalog to a NFS share on the Data Domain which Netbackup sees as Advanced Disk.
Can I use this same kind of disk for Active Directory and Sharepoint GRT backups? Is it supported?

As per TECH187917:
** NetBackup 7.5 introduces GRT support for qualified Third Party OpenStorage devices. Please check the NetBackup Hardware Compatibility List TECH76495 for the current list of qualified OpenStorage devices.
We see in HCL that GRT is indeed supported with certain DD models and OST plugin.
Best to subscribe to TECH76495 - it gets updated about 3 times per month.

It will work, but GRT on NFS is not officially supported, AdvancedDisk or not.

DD Boost license on DD is required to use DD OST, you should go DD OST.

Thanks all.
We are running NBU 7.1 and upgrade to 7.5 is not an option but fortunately Advanced Disk NFS shares do work.
A supported solution is being sought, but at least it is working.
