Data Domain Boost for Symantec NetBackup OpenStorage

Hi , 

I'll appreciate your advice about this product, as I understand I could get similar operations using Netbackup Deduplication option where I can "dedupe everywhere" ,obtaining more benefits using client deduplication and reducing bandwith requeriments.

You may want to download Datasheets for Data Domain as well as NBU and NBU Appliances and compare features.

You can see in NBU HCL which features are supported by the various Appliances:  http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH76495 

When it comes to features, there is nothing that beats NBU with its 'dedupe everywhere' and Accelerator.
If it is all about size, Data Domain can supply much bigger appliances than NetBackup.

So, do your own investigations and decide which one is best for you.

Enrique - Please tell us what youre challenges are, and why you are investigating both Symantec Dedupe option and Data Domain at the same time.

From my point of view you both need them in a enterprise scale. I see them more a complementary product than competing.
