Hello Geeks !
We are looking to configure data domain as OST and VTL in our netbackup environemnt -We looking to install VTL for NDMP backups and OST for all other types of backups.
Is it possible to configure both VTL and OST on asame box. We do have VTL and OST license.
Any document we have for this configuration...

You manage both BOOST and VTL from the Data Domain web mangement console.
You do not need a extrac NIC for managening VTL. You can use the BOOST IP to manage both

Yes it is possible.
VTL and OST are two diffrent services within Data Domain OS.

Thanks Nicolai !
I am planning to bond two 10Gigs nics for backups and duplication and 2 1Gig nics for accpting the duplicated data.
regarding VTL we have two HBA's - Guess ,we need two seperate NIC's as well for VTL/
Is this correct

No necessary - One FC HBA can present multiple virtual robots and tape drives at the same time. It does a sort of lun masking. If you plan to move huge amount of data, go for two FC HBA's.
in VTL there is no "in and out" ports like the OST part of Data Domain. Traffic passes the same FC HBA.

Thanks Nicolai !
What about accessing VTL management console ? Would we able to access it using OST management conosle.
Say we name VTL as
XXVTL01
OST as XXDDP01 ( Bonding two 10Gigs) Backup and Duplication
and XXDDR01 (Bonding two 1Gigs) Receiving remote site data
Woudn't we need any NIC for the VTL ?
