Defferetial-Incremental Backup cannot Backup MS-Windows Policy

Dimitrios

Hi all,

previously, sorry for my English and i´m NB newbie!

Following situation: NBU 7.5.0.6 Windows Media Server and a Windows sbs 08 client with sbs NBU 7.5.0.6.
On the client a SAN-Share is connected, data is written to it. Share this should be secured by existing Netbackup "MS-Windows" policy. The settings have been adjusted, the question is: is it sufficient simply in the policy at a hoes "Backup Network Drives" set to?
The network drive is mounted in Windows and in the policy "Backup Selection" stored "\\san_share\hostname". (see Screenshot)

Full backup was backed up on schedule now I have a "differential-incremental backup" started and it remains without a response hang. There is no error message nothing!

The problem is likely to be because the server using existing information since the last full backup cannot retrieve the data that was changed.
I have a copy of the existing policy generated and I can start backup.

To get client access on that share of the NB services started with a domain user.

have everyone a idee?

thank you in advance

Best Regards

Anything in Details tab of this job?

This will tell us if processes on media server have started, if Media server attempted to connect to client, etc.

These details will tell us where in the process flow the job is hanging and where we need to troubleshoot.

Ensure all of these log folders exist under ...\NetBackup\logs:

On media server: bptm and bpbrm

On client: bpcd and bpbkar

ok i think it lieth at the Premission denied from Client to the NAS Share. One thing I do not understand why I can start with the second policy backup?! The Second Policy is a Clone from origin!

And a Full Backup run without problems. After the Full Backup i will backup the Differential-Incremental Backup from this Share, this action refuse the Premission.

Follow Services run with AD account on Client

- Symantec Private Branch Exchange
- NetBackup Client Service
- Netbackup Legacy Client Service
- Netbackup Legacy Network Service

thanks a lot for answer
