Define a new tape in NBU

Hi Dear Community,

1 the one of the tapes has frozen. But l want to copy the images which that in frozen tape to a new blank tape.

2. The copy procedure was shown  in another ticket.

3. But l would like to know when l insert a new tape to tape library  NBU will define the a new tape to the Scratch pool alright? and then the NBU will use it immediately.  Thus, l can will not copy the images to a new tape?

Please, Who can help me for this issue?

Hi @Tabriz 

If you really really want to duplicate to the new tape - create a specific pool for this purpose. Put the new tape in there and specify the pool in the duplication command(s).

That said, NetBackup does a very good job of managing tape usage and typically there is no requirement to specify a tape to use. Let NetBackup manage the media and let it use the new tape as it will.
