'Demoting' a master server to a media server

Hi,

We are planning on moving our master server to new hardware (server/staging/tape library). This seems straight forward enough. How would I then go about using the 'old' master server as a media server?

Cheers

Rename the hostname at an OS Level, so it doesn;t conflict with the new master server and reinstall Netbackup, that way you get a nice clean install without all the old Master server specific configs and files in place.

It's quicker and cleaner to do that.

Edit: Remember to have your NEW master server up and ready first. While you are sorting the NEW master server, ensure this old one is down and off the network so there is no hostname conflict.

That makes sense, thanks.

Also see my edited comment above about ensuring new master is configured and working first.
