I have a client that wanted to do disk-to-disk backups. I created a BasicDisk storage unit and it's working fine but now they want to go Disk-to-disk-to-tape. We run FULL backups of their Exchange server each night and retain them for 1 week. They want to move one of these full backups to tape each weekend with a retention period of 6 months.
I can enable the staging schedule (or Lifecycle Policies) but they only want one copy to be sent to tape not everything (multiple backups of the same data).
I can workaround it by running a full backup each weekend and sending it to tape directly but it'd be nice to not have to go to the exchange server for essentially the same data that's on the local disk of the master server.
They're running Netbackup version 6.5
