Domain Controllers Backup

Dear Experts,

I have Symantec Netbackup 7.5

Domain controllers 2008

I am currently backup up my domain controllers using a policy that backups the shadow copy components of type ms-windows, with weekly full backup and daily differential incermental backup.

Is this enough to be able to recover my domain controllers incase of a disaster?will this backup the whole domain controller structure inclusing DB and the active directory strucuture, policies, sites configuration, trusts and all?

What is basically a shadow copy components backup?

Regards,

Ahmad

That is fine, make sure your backup is successfull with status 0 and in the restore you are able to see the componenets.

"Shadow Copy Components:\" directive takes all data provided by Volume Shadow Copy components writer.
For more detail, please check NetBackup 7.5 Administrator's Guide Volume II for Windows page 658.

When i open the restore application, i can browse through the system state components, but they all show a size 0, is that normal? the backup job completes successfully with no warning or errors.
