Hi all,

I just attached a drive to a server which already has a drive attached this make 2 drives but the reboot is controlled from another server. My problem is with second drive, I'm trying to test it but when I try to run a backup to the second drive the drive goes in DOWN status. Does anybody has any idea why?

Hi,
First of all be sure that the tape drive device drivers installed correctly. If it is OK try to search driver from Netbackup's "Configure Storage Devices" menu. Note that Netbackup uses drivers serial number. You can see the details by running this command ;

# /usr/openv/volmgr/bin/vmglob -listall

I think the drive configuration parameters are not correct. You can see the drive by running "robtest" utility but it does not mean drive was configured correctly.

If none of above work try to delete all drive information from Netbackup and re-configure it all.
