Hi All,

We have Spectra T-380 Tape library with 6 drives shared between two media servers(Solaris) , Master is also solaris but doesn't have drive connected to it. We are planning to add up extra media server(Linux OS). Can someone please let me know if any one has found issue with sharing drives between solaris and Linux.

Netbackup version 7.1

No issue. Perfectly supported and working well.

We have customers sharing tape drives between almost all of the supported NBU versions: Solaris, Linux, AIX, Windows, HP-UX.

Just check that NBU Library based tape drive license and SSO license is added to all media servers sharing the tape drives.

Ensure port connectivity and forward and reverse lookup between master and media servers as well as between robot control host and all media servers sharing the drives.
