Drive goes offline

Level 3

I have one particular drive that keeps going offline.  I found that the file /dev/nst2 did not have the same permissions as the others so I changed it to match.  But I am still unable to keep the drive up.  It now seems to load a tape but does not seem to have permissions to write.  Am I missing anything.

What does /usr/openv/volmgr/bin/scan show?

And /proc/scsi/scsi ?

Please add VERBOSE entry to  /usr/openv/volmgr/vm.conf and restart NBU.

After this, check /var/log/messages next time tape drive goes offline or report errors.

I changed the permissions manually and rebooted all the netbackup servers.  That is what resolved my problem.

thanks
