Drive is in SCAN-TLD

A drive is in SCAN-TLD mode/control. The drive seems underutilised as it has low mounts.

There is another drive in TLD with low mounts as well.

The two drives were down and I up the drives and found that one is in SCAN_TLD. Some Backup fails with error code 196

How can this issue be resolved.

Any ideas?

Scan shows all the drives

Info:

Symantec Netbackup 7.5.0.6

Windows server 2008 r2 is the OS

Drive is in SCAN-TLD mode despite not being shared

SCAN-TLD means this is the master control device host for that specific tape drive. Something has to look after locking and sharing of the drive amongst the hosts its configured for when a backup is requested so there is no race condition for the same drive.

Thanks. Any ideas for the underutilized drives.

OR will this resolve the underutilization of the drives as well?
