Drives in robot showing as Standalone

Hi,

I am trying to add a new Win 2008 media server to Solaris master server and configure a SL500 Tape library and 12 LTO5 drives on new media server.

The tape library and drives are detected at OS level; how ever when i configure the drives through Netbackup GUI, all the LTO5  drives are showing as standalone. Under TLD i could see around 10 drives with message "Attached to remote host".

I have attached the screenshot for more clarity

Can someone please help me out.

The drives showing as standalone on the screen shot you have shown - you can actually 'drag and drop' them up into the robot  - worth a go ...

Hi Check output from 'scan' to see what the robot itself reports. 'Unused element' means that the robot itself is unaware of the drive(s). A complete power cycle will probably 'fix' the robot status, after which NBU will pick up the robot drive contents correctly. http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO33049 Also if this is virtual library please check link below http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH135671 Thanks

I configured the drives as standalone and then added them manually to TLD from Netbackup console. Now when i re-scan the drives the drives are showing inside the robot.

Thanks everybody for sharing your thoughts.
