Hello Friends,
I am preparing for Netbackup interview and came across one common interview question:
On trying to search for a solution for the same, I came across a post which says that in this case the drives run with AVR (Automatic Volume Recognition) mode enabled.
What does this AVR mean? I tried to understand the same, but each time, I go through some information in relation to this, I get a bit confused. I would like to understand the concept of AVR in simple language.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Jecintha

Drives in AVR status means one of the following:
Please let us know which NBU version and which OS on NBU server with robot control - troubleshooting is a lot easier if we have as much detail as possible.
Please also post output of:
vmoprcmd -d
tpconfig -l
(Windows path: <install-path>\veritas\volmgr\bin
Unix/Linux path: /usr/openv/volmgr/bin)

Hi Andy,
Its true I am preparing for the interview; and the sole purpose of posting this query was to understand the concept of AVR.
Thanks Marriane, your post was indeed helpful in getting my doubt clarified.

Oops! Missed the "I am preparing for Netbackup interview" part!
I hate these Interview questions - most of them can be answered in a number of different ways... I think I would fail a lot of them!
Good luck!
