We're beginning our hardware refresh process and are running into the same issue we have in the past, user gets a new machine which has a new machine name, data is transferred via external usb drive from old machine to new and DLO begins backing up the same dang data that it already has from the old machine. Of course this floods our wan links for offices that don't have a local data server (which is most) and creates additional overhead in cleaning things up on the back end.
So, any thoughts on how we might be able to prevent this from happening, or at least curb its effects? Due to the format in which data is backed up, I don't think we could simply rename the old computer data folder to the new...though something like that would be slick as it could be a scripted operation....
