Hi

I am duplicating few images from tape to disk(MSDP) for an Exchage GRT restore purpose by using Netbackup management-->Catalog console. I could see the duplication job has completed successfully with exact data size. But the problem is i could not list those duplicated umages from Netbackup management-->Catalog -->Disk Type (All) as well as using bpimagelist

I selected the box Primary copy and msdp STU before initiate the duplication job. But still i could see the tape backupimage is showing as the primary copy when i see from catalog console.i excatly dont know where thse iages gone and how do i track. 2 times t ran the duplication job but same thing is happening.

Because of this i could not perfomr GRT restore as current primary images are in tape. Restore is still asking me to duplicate the tape copy to disk. But even after successfull completion of the duplication, getting same error when i perform the restore.

Hello Ajith,

I've seen this issue happen a few times. Could you tell me how old the image is, and what retention you're using for the duplication job?

The retention you set there is based on when the image is backed up, not when you're launching the duplicate job. So let's say you have an image that's a week old, and you duplicate it to disk with a retention of "1 day" because, well, you only need it for one day for a specific restore.

However, the retention will be 1 day after the backup, so we'll immediately expire the image. Try setting the image retention to "infinity" or something that would make the image last, and expire the image via the GUI > Catalog > Find it > Right Click > Expire.

Thanks!

Hi

The retention i am making for duplicated copy is 1 month, but even though it is not displaying in the catalog screen. Moreoever as soon as the duplication completed, when i refresh my open catalog window it says that particular image has been exipred.
