Duplication Jobs From One Server to Another

You can see in the picture above that I have Duplication jobs going from one media server -> to another. I am wondering how I can make this stop so that they just go from media server -> to same media server as I would imagine that is faster.

Under Change Storage Operation under Duplication I have the Alternate read server: set to the source media server, but that doesn't appear to resolve the problem.

You can use the command below

nbemmcmd -changesetting -common_server_for_dup <default|preferred|required> -machinename master server name

Also you can check your STU or STU group to select only the media server where you would like to duplicate

You are saying to uncheck all of the media servers here except for the one that the STU is for? Would this not in turn disallow the other media servers access to write to the disk pool that the media server has attached? Just curious as I am not overly familiar with what all this is allowing or disallowing.

There used to be a TN explaining USE_BACKUP_MEDIA_SERVER_FOR_RESTORE touchfile but has been removed for some reason. Ram had a saved copy that he posted over here: https://www.veritas.com/community/forums/how-use-media-host-override#comment-9493961 This touchfile (empty file with no extension ) will ensure that the same backup media server will also do duplications and restores.
